New website. Yesterday’s photos?
Website photography from Stuttgart, planned around your page structure: hero image, team, services and spaces, all from one session — in exactly the crops and formats your website needs.
Start a projectIn a website shoot, I don’t just take “a few nice photos” — I photograph specifically what your actual pages need: a generous hero image for the homepage, shots for the team and about page, a photo for each individual service, and images of your space and location for contact and directions. Before the session, I go through your page structure and define which page gets which image.
The crucial difference is in the crops and formats. A hero image needs a lot of calm negative space for a headline and a button; a team block needs square portraits with matching styling; a service page needs a portrait-format detail shot. I plan for these requirements at the moment of shooting, so the images never need awkward cropping or distortion later.
A website shoot makes the most sense alongside a new website or a relaunch. Then I can match the shots directly to the layout as it’s being built — as both designer and photographer in one person, I know exactly where each image sits and at what size it’s needed. That means the photos are ready by launch, instead of holding it up.

How your project runs
-
STEP 1
Go Through the Pages
We look together at what pages your website has or will have — home, team, services, location, contact. For every page, I note which image needs to work there. After this conversation you get a fixed price.
-
STEP 2
Build an Image Plan
The page list becomes a concrete shot list: which images are needed, in what format (landscape for the hero, square for the team, portrait for details), and with how much negative space for text. This makes clear, before the shoot, exactly what needs to be captured.
-
STEP 3
Everything in One Session
During the on-site shoot, I work through the list systematically — hero, team, services, spaces. For every shot, I keep the crop the page will need front of mind, and I’d rather shoot a bit wider to leave room for different image sizes.
-
STEP 4
Cropping for Each Page
After selection, I crop and edit every image to fit its spot on the website — the hero at full width, the portraits consistent, the detail shots in the right ratio. You don’t just get photos — you get images ready to drop in.
-
STEP 5
Integration for the Relaunch
If the website is being built with me, I place the images directly in the right spot. If someone else is handling the web design, I deliver the files clearly named and in the right format, so integration works without guesswork.
A website shoot works because I photograph your spaces, your team and your location on-site — the exact places that will later appear on the website. As a photographer and designer from Stuttgart, I can reach you quickly, in Stuttgart itself as well as the region from Esslingen to Ludwigsburg to Böblingen. We’ll coordinate a date around your website or relaunch timeline without any hassle.
Frequently asked questions
Why a dedicated shoot for the website instead of individual photos?
Because individual photos rarely fit the page. An image that wasn’t shot for a hero has too little negative space for a headline; portraits taken on different occasions look inconsistent in a team block. A website shoot photographs for the specific page from the start — the right format, the right crop, the same style across the whole site.
Do web design and photos have to be built together?
No, but it’s the ideal case. If the layout is already set, I can plan the shots to match exactly. If both are built in parallel, I coordinate image and page as we go. And if your website already exists, I plan the shoot around the existing pages and image slots — the photos still fit.
What images does my website even need?
Typically: a hero image for the homepage, consistent portraits for the team, one image per service, and shots of your space and location for contact and directions. We work out what makes sense as we go through your pages — you only pay for the shots your website actually uses.
Do I get the images already cropped correctly?
Yes. You don’t get a loose pile of images — you get them cropped and named for their exact spot: the hero in wide format, portraits consistently square, detail shots in the right ratio — each web-optimized for fast load times. Original files for later adjustments are available on request.
What does a website shoot cost?
That depends on the number of pages and shots, the on-site effort, and the editing involved. A small website with home, team and contact is more manageable than a site with many service pages. After a free initial conversation and a shared shot list, you get a fixed price — no hidden items.
